Technical equipment such as lamina air flow in the operating
room reduces the risk for infection. Also it is important
that the patient takes off the personal clothing and changes
to hospital clothing before surgery in the "changing
room”, so contamination with outside-bacteria is
very unlikely. At the hygiene place the surgical instruments
are cleaned by disinfection and sterilisation according
to the recommendations of the "Robert-Koch-institute”
(DIN 58953 ). High-tech equipment is supplied for the
safety of the patient at the recovery room (monitoring
of EKG, monitoring of pulsoxymetrie, central oxygen supplement,
X-ray etc.).Ambulatory surgery must provide the same safety
equipment as a hospital. It is possible to stay overnight,
if this becomes necessary for the patient.
In the past all patients were able to leave within 5-6
hours of monitoring in stable condition and with effective
pain relief.
